︎︎︎At the Korean Museum of Contemporary Art,
I exhibited alongside Daney Kang as installation artists for the Summer 2022-Winter 2023 Exhibition.
︎︎︎We created a 5x5 television installation titled 18,00 to create an immersive color experience.
︎︎︎Along with creating But, You Promised, another installation work described in further detail below.
︎︎︎In addition I solely designed Museum Pamphlets to be given alongside the exhibition.

18,000

is a study in color dilation.

Dilation refers to the change in size of an
object; either becoming larger or smaller.

In this piece the color space dilates while simultaneously moving through a gradation of 18,000 colors in the span of a five minute video.

The structure itself, a 5x5 grid, dictates the placement of the rotating color space (see next page). The angles are also chosen by the structure, as the TV screen has four corners and four sides. Therefore, to compliment the screen, four angular spaces were created.

When you observe 18,000 know that the color spaces and gradation is an experience unique to you. The number listed below is the possible color combinations this piece holds.

But, You Promised

is a dialogue between the environment and people, filtered through the setting of a museum’s exhibition space.

The stacked books and old televisions present the idea that art can - and more often - should be created by old materials to contribute less to the material waste of the art world.

But, You Promised is from the perspective of Earth. Step inside the narrow room of waves and enjoy the peaceful energy nature brings.

And, keep your promise to preserve it this time.
